Community- The eight week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Training is based on the program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts. This is a popular training which is open to those new to meditation and those want to reignite their practice again.  Included are three practice CD/MP3 digital tracks and a manual. The Four Week Mindfulness Meditation Training is for those who prefer a shorter program. It covers the basics of mindfulness meditation sitting practice, the compassionate body scan, light yoga and mindful movement, walking meditation and loving kindness meditation. Included  is one practice CD and a reading materials.

Workplace meditation training– There is no doubt there is stress in the workplace. Evidence is proving that more and more employees are missing work due to work induced and stress related illness and that the cost and loss to the employer is increasing. Trainings can be tailored to your specific workplace needs in a variety of lengths, formats and learning environments and styles. Between 2007 and 2008 I was a member of a health care team conducting  a  six month pilot medical study for a local insurance company using mindfulness as its method.  I led   24 employees through the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program related to the company’s goal to address health and weight loss. The results were impressive and beyond other similar programs offered by this local weight loss company.

Health Care Practitioners. Because the body of clinical studies and research has grown exponentially in recent years, the evidence based criteria  required by professionals to substantiate referring patients and clients to a solid and reputable approach to wellness, improved health and reducing health care associated costs has exceeded all expectations. Not only has the mind body connection become accepted by health care professionals as a valid and worthwhile approach as a complimentary practice, but  health care professionals such as physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, psychotherapists and medical chaplains  are  MBSR teachers and facilitators.  Those who are not teaching take the training for Continuing Education when required but Washington State Department of Health because they   recognize how this enhances their own professional development which results in bringing the same value to  their clients and patients.
